Bella + Blake's micro wedding at Glacier National Park was definitely an unforgettable one! If you're dreaming of an adventurous elopement surrounded by rain-kissed trails, alpine meadows, and epic mountain views, this GNP micro-wedding is filled with inspiration.
Bella + Blake's wedding day started with pouring down rain - and I mean POURING rain - nestled up in Apgar Montana at The Glacier Homestead wedding venue. There, all guests staying at the homestead were family and friends who all played a part in making Bella + Blake's wedding day a magical one. From quickly putting a tent over their intimate reception area, to the DIY florals for ceremony - everyone played a part in the couple's big day. Beginning with getting ready details, I took advantage of the Homestead's home and hung Bella's sleek and elegant wedding dress from Honest and Ivory on one of the doors. The moody lighting from the rainstorm made for an intimate and cool tone for the detail photos. Throughout the getting ready process, it was captured as it happened with very little prompting or directions. This is my favorite time to capture those in-between moments and candid laughs!
Although the Bella and Blake chose not to do a first look before ceremony, Bella did do a first look with her father who walked her down the aisle. This is always such a intimate and sweet moment that warms my heart when I have the opportunity to do them! After the ceremony and family photos, it was time to make our way into Glacier National Park for the intimate Bride + Groom portraits. Bella and I had several consultations and developed a timeline together to ensure we had time to stop at all of her must-see destinations within GNP.
We decided to drive all the way in and work out of West Glacier. Starting with the Mountain Views, we pulled off into a lot right off of the Going-To-The-Sun Road and hiked down a ways to the perfect look out spot. With the clouds rolling through and the rain had just stopped, we began working through the shot list allowing for creative shots and candid story telling. We then drove down to the tunnel where the couple shared their heartfelt vows that had me tearing up. During their vows, I learned that 8 years ago, Blake asked Bella to be his girlfriend here in Glacier National Park. Getting married here held such a sentimental and romantic meaning for them. After their vows, we traveled to our final spot - Lake McDonald. This was my very first time seeing Lake McDonald with my own very eyes and it did not disappoint! Here, we finished with a mix of posed and prompted photos. The cloudy day created the most stunning blue hue within the photos that I am literally so obsessed with. We made sure to capture details of the custom hats from Dusty Brim Hat Bar and details of her gorgeous bridal bouquet designed by Bison Floral.
